Maintenance Tasks Performed with the Road–Rail Truck

Summer season • Cleaning of rail grooves • Vacuuming/sweeping of the track area • Comprehensive washing equipment (including street, bridge and tunnel washing) • Cleaning tasks on ballasted track • Brush cutter operations

Winter season • Anti icing tasks for overhead contact wires • Track ploughing and winter brushing • Snow blowing • Grit spreading at stops • Salting of the track area

The road–rail truck will be equipped with interchangeable work tools and equipment suitable for the above tasks. These are included in the procurement price of the road–rail truck. The supplier shall install on the road–rail truck the client’s onboard device used for switch operations and for monitoring the vehicle’s location.

The road–rail truck will be used for daily maintenance work every day of the year, and its lifecycle is estimated to be at least 15 years. Therefore, special attention must be paid in the delivery solution to the truck’s availability, durability and maintainability. A long lifecycle is also supported by the strong availability of spare parts and maintenance services.
